It covers the basics in a thorough and easy to understand way, and even gets into some more advanced concepts such as thermodynamics relating to combustion—highly recommended.
Jan 04, William Schram rated it really liked it Shelves: textbooks , science , physics , engineering , classics. It goes over the ideas of thermodynamics thoroughly.
Unfortunately, there isn't much to say about it. The book did a great job. It contains enough images and illustrations to engage the reader. The book has pages that explain the symbols used and is very helpful.
It contains problems to solve and practice examples to explain how to do the equations. It also has several chapters that explain efficiency and the four laws of Thermodynamics. Fi "Fundamentals of Classical Thermodynamics" is a textbook.
Finally, the book expects you to be well-versed in Calculus. The one drawback I can see is that the edition I have is old. The copyright is from Jul 09, Shaghayegh Akhbari rated it liked it. This was also a university study. It wasn't my subject at all. So I'm giving it a three star. But it's a very well known book to be taught to university students. It definitely has a great value. But not my favorite topic though. Jun 03, Dr-Omar Al-Khaja rated it really liked it. Jan 15, Sunny Khan rated it it was amazing.
I found it a great book in thermodynamics. It explains the fundamental concepts in a good way. A lot of example problems helped me digest the difficult concepts and master the problem solving techniques.
The arrangement of the subject matters is very organized and allowed me to follow different paths. I have it in my personal library and I use it as a reference during my research along with other great books. I recommend it anyone who is interested in this subjects as it has something to offer t I found it a great book in thermodynamics.
I recommend it anyone who is interested in this subjects as it has something to offer to everyone whether you are just starting or an expert. Mobina J rated it liked it Jun 06, A piece of experimental apparatus.

Now in its Tenth Edition, this book retains its characteristic rigor and systematic approach to thermodynamics with enhanced pedagogical features that aid in student comprehension. Detailed appendices provide instant reference; chapter summaries review terminology, equations, and key concepts; and updated data and graphics increase student engagement while enhancing understanding.
Covering classical thermodynamics with a focus on practical applications, this book provides a basic foundational skillset applicable across a variety of engineering fields.
Worked examples demonstrate the appropriate use of new formulas, while clarifying the proper approach to generalized problems of a relevant nature. Going beyond the usual guidance in the basics of the field, this book is designed as comprehensive preparation for more advanced study in students' engineering field of choice.
