Doing a CCNA is fine too, but it's not really that vendor neutral. It'll teach you the fundamentals with a Cisco twist. I consider it an updated version of Radia's classic "Interconnections". It covers a much wider range of fundamental knowledge than Network Warrior. This book doesn't go into configuration; it is all about concepts that transcend vendor implementations.

Very highly recommended! CCNA may be made but cisco but it covers networking fundamentals really well. Not much of it is vendor specific actually, except maybe some device configuration and maintenance. You can pick up any study materials related to that. I followed the CBTNuggets series, i higly recommend that.
