I reset the registry back to default permissions. I reset the permissions on all the system files to default settings. I reinstalled Windows to a different directory and would like to take the now working HKCR and copy it on top of the broken one, and finally run a Windows repair install on the original installation, but HKCR seems to be contained elsewhere besides its own file.
